What No One Tells You About Cancel Culture [Chapter One of 'Uncanceled']
Our real opponents aren't the shut-up squad or bitter, angry radicals.
I was targeted by cancel culture long before it became the thing it is today. They tried to run me out of town for quoting a Bible verse. A Bible verse!
These days, cancel culture is coming for everyone.
My new book is called "Uncanceled: Finding Meaning and Peace in a Culture of Accusations, Shame, and Condemnation." It will be out on February 8, 2022, but I want you to read the first chapter now to see what we're up against and what we can do:
In cancel culture, everyone winds up getting burned because no one knows what the rules are, and everyone falls short — every last one of us.
But our real opponents aren't the shut-up squad or bitter, angry radicals spitting and hollering to force you into submission. Satan is the enemy — Satan and his deadly ideas that have taken root in the minds of the ignorant and unwary.
As I wrote in this book, I want to encourage you to fight the good fight against the real enemy. Fight him relentlessly! Fight using the weapons God has given you, and fight with passion!
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
(2 Corinthians 10:4–5)
You may be canceled, but it’s only temporary. You have the one thing that will last forever — immortality! No one can cancel that.
