If you listen to our Unashamed podcast, you know Miss Kay has been in the hospital this month. I can't wait for her to be back home, and neither can she. She's doing better, and she's as ready to be out of the rehabilitation facility as I am to have her back with me.
There was a time when I had drifted so far into the clutches of the evil one that I didn't think it would be possible to find my way back from the bottle to Miss Kay and our boys. I kicked them to the curb, and at any sign of shame or guilt, I scurried back to the darkness so the light wouldn't shine on my sins.
The enemy wants you to collapse under the weight of your sins, but the truth is, in Jesus, anyone can be set free from that burden. Anyone. That's my story, and it could be yours too. Getting that message to you is how I want to spend my remaining years in this old body.
Our family's movie, The Blind, shows me at my very worst 50 years ago, but when it comes down to it, it's not a movie about the evil one — it’s about repentance, hope, and redemption. Anyone can be a new creation in Christ. No matter where you've been or what you've done, you can start living in the light.
They tell me The Blind is streaming exclusively on Great American Pure Flix. The only stream I know is the kind I can fish in, but if you're looking for hope for the hopeless, you can do the streaming thing and watch it free for a week.
Miss Kay likes to say that when God gives you a story, he gives you the strength to tell it. So live by the truth, and don’t be afraid of the light.
“Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
—John 3:20-21
I have always enjoyed watching you and your family. Especially for the way you show God and family in everything you do. I am a former addict myself and I use to put that old life before everything and everyone too. Miss Kay is right. We all have a story to tell and God does give us the strength to tell it. Thank you for shining your light and I pray that it continues to shine.
Thanks for the update Phil. It is wonderful that Ms. Kay is doing so well and pray she will SOON be home. Loved the movie "The Blind"!! Laughed and cried my way through it. (I have it on disc.) I don't miss an episode of Unashamed. I am 'dropping in' from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada - across the Port Angeles Washington. May the Lord continue to bless the Robertson family and keep using them so greatly.
